Well, we've had a great interview trip and have been able to visit with all of the grandparents and several "aunties" and "uncles". Life is good. But we don't yet have any answers. I feel as confused as ever, but we'll just wait to see what the final offers are and what feels right then (hopefully something will).
My brother got lost for several dark hours on the Alaskan tundra on his caribou hunt this weekend. I'm very grateful to have him home (especially since he was hauling oodles of raw meat and was a prime bear target). He relayed that the experience caused him to reflect on the uncertain aspects of his life and what he wants. I wonder... will he propose? ; ) Just teasing Ry. No pressure!

I am listening to Dave Brubeck, one of the most respected and prolific jazz pianists ever to grace this earth. He is a masterful musician in perhaps the most difficult of musical genres: jazz. Jazz pianists have to be in such command of their abilities that they can stay focused on what it is that they want to do while also being in tune with their band mates. Jazz is all about improvisation – carefully orchestrated chaos.
"That’s what good parenting is: playing jazz piano. You have to hold on to who you are and what you want AND you have to be in tune with your other family members. That takes an extreme amount of self-control, which in turn takes an extreme amount of practice and work. Dave Brubeck and pianists like him were born with skill, but they put in hours of effort and study to become masters. Parenting is no different. Without working on your self and your skills, you’ll end up making noise instead.

I'm glad to see you back on here. Just remember "this too shall pass". A great friend reminded me of that whenever I was in an uncomfortable space in my life. The Lord just wants to keep you on your toes. He will bless you and take care of you in no time, I am sure of it!
SARAH! What the heck? We leave for a vacation and all of a sudden you guys are unemployed (way to hold your integrity, Ben)and you came and left Utah?! I was bummed to see that we missed you. I am going to email you so you can tell me more...
